"Magda Live" nominated to the Fryderyk Award
CD "Magda Live" of Magda Piskorczyk is nominated for the Fryderyk Award of the The Polish Phonographic Academy as the Best Blues Album of the Year. Morover, Magda, as a guest, appears also at another album nominated in this category: Blues Flowers "Smacznego!".
The Polish Phonographic Academy which associates nearly 1000 performing artists, record industry professionals and music journalists make the Jury. The Award was founded at the initiative of ZPAV in 1999, but for the first time blues is honoured in a separated category.
New videoclip - "All of Me"
The song "All of Me" comes from the CD "Magda Live" which was released in March. The song is a popular jazz standard, performed by lots of masters of vocal and instrumental jazz. Magda's version, traditionally, is different: lively, colourful and full of humour. That is all of Magda!

Magda in the anniversary CD of Blues sur Seine
For the second time Magda Piskorczyk was invited to sing in the publication of this French festival. It is a special 2-CD compilation titled: "Blues sur Seine Fete Ses 10 Ans" (Blues sur Seine Celebrates its Ten Years). The first record ("Festival") contains 18 songs performed by 17 artists mainly from France and USA (such as Gaye Adegbalola, Janiva Magness, Mighty Mo Rodgers). Among them Polish vocalist with "Walking Blues" from her last album "Magda Live". The profits of CD selling will be used for social and educational activities. Release date: 6 November 2008.
September - Magda in Polish Blues Anthology
5-CD box was released in mid September. It was prepared by the Polish Blues Society and Mariusz Szalbierz. This is the first such documentation of blues music in our country. In the anthology there are two songs performed by Magda Piskorczyk and chosen from the CD "Magda Live": "All of Me" and "Muddy Water Blues"

April - August - "Hearts" on the top of Radio Cracow Alternative Hit List
Magda Piskorczyk's jazzy version of Jacques Brel's "Hearts" (Les
coeurs tendres) reached no 1 position in the Alternative Hits List of
the Radio Cracow. The song appered on the list at the beginning of April
and has spent ten weeks in the top 10.
This program is broadcast every Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. via radio waves
and Internet. The songs on the list represent very interesting and broad
variaty of genres: jazz, blues, poetic ballads, rock and more.

June 7-14 - Magda in Liverpool at City Sings Gospel
On June 1, 2008 the International City Sings Gospel Festival started in the European Capital of Culture. Liverpool will celebrate Gospel Music in a variety of events running in the first half of June: concerts of 50 performers (soloists, bands, choirs), exhibitions, meetings, lectures, workshops. The Festival of Hope at Hope Street will be the most spectacular event of CSG 08. From the Anglican Cathedral to the Metropolitan Cathedral, the street will come alive for a massive free Gospel Arts street party. The organizers (Hope University, Merseyfest and Liverpool Lighthouse) expect 20 thousand viewers. The live music along Hope Street will span traditional to urban Gospel reflecting modern styles and genres, including hip-hop, rap, jazz, blues, d-j’ing, reggae, as well as cultural and music traditions from South Africa to the South Pacific. There will be nine stages with artists from Great Britain, USA, Estonia, France, Congo, South America, Nigeria, New Zealand, Samoa, Norway and Poland!
